As part of Nokia’s ongoing commitment to simplify network programmability, we’re excited to announce that we’ve rolled out a set of updates to the Network as Code Developer Portal. With these new capabilities, developers, enterprises, and Communication Service Providers (CSPs) gain more flexibility, greater control, and faster time-to-value as they build and scale network-aware applications.
For Developers
-
Improved sign-up process: We have implemented a streamlined sign-up flow including email verification and two-factor authentication (2FA) using SMS or Authenticator app.
-
Get started instantly: A default app and API key are set up for you automatically, so you can start calling our APIs in seconds.
-
Free access to test mode: Start testing and building from day one with access to our simulated network environment.
-
API playground: Browse and test APIs and see all endpoints in one place with ready-to-run examples. This makes it effortless for developers to get started. No setup hassles or searches through the documentation.
For Enterprises
-
Effortless production upgrade: To connect with live networks, you’ll need a production-ready organization and billing account. The portal now makes it simple for you to upgrade your organization to production in a few easy steps!
-
Post-paid billing: The portal now offers a guided experience to help you submit the required details for post-paid settlement. Simply follow the steps and share the required details for approval. Once approved, you’ll gain access to commercial APIs on live networks with integrated development and operational tools. Enterprises will receive a single monthly invoice.
-
Flexible pricing plans:
- Pay-per-use is the default price plan that enables enterprises to subscribe and use commercially available network APIs and pay for only what you use.
- Volume tier plans offer flat rate or graduated pricing for higher API consumption.
- Custom price plans are tailored based on specific needs. You can request a custom price plan through the portal or by contacting us. Our Nokia team can walk you through the details and help find the right fit for your business.
-
The robust API charging engine supports various charging models. As you build applications with richer features using NaC APIs, you can scale pricing to reflect the value the features bring to your end users. Some examples of the different charging models include:
- APIs such as SIM Swap, Number Verification, Location Retrieval, Location Verification are charged per API call or request.
- Quality on Demand (QoD) APIs are charged based on the session duration and the requested QoD profile, such as bandwidth, low latency and high priority.
- Device Status APIs are charged based on the number of status change events or notifications that are sent to the applications.
-
API charging & billing is updated in real-time enabling enterprises to monitor usage on the dashboard.
For CSPs
-
Flexible business models: Choose revenue share or fixed API pricing.
-
Automated settlement reports: Generate settlement reports based on agreed pricing models with API usage, pricing, and computed amount. This helps to automate and streamline reconciliation and finance workflows.
These updates further our commitment to empowering developers, enterprises, and service providers with the tools needed to accelerate innovation, automate operations, and unlock new revenue opportunities.
